Our treatments will help you restore balance in your daily life.

The aim of Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) is to provide our clients with goal-directed support and solution-focused intervention. We intended to achieve identified goals or objectives as outlined in the individual’s recovery plan. With CPST, we address specific individual needs with evidence-based and evidence-informed psychotherapeutic practices designed specifically to meet those needs. Positive Transformations Health Services mainly provides CPST face-to-face with the individual present; however, family or other persons significant to the individual may also be involved.

Here are examples of how CPST can benefit an individual:

  • By assisting the individual, we can identify treatment options associated with their mental illness or substance abuse disorder. The goal is to minimize the negative symptoms, emotional disruptions, or other related environmental triggers that can interfere with their daily lives.
  • We provide individual supportive counseling, solution-focused interventions, emotional and behavioral management support, and behavioral analysis. We seek to develop and implement skills that include social, interpersonal, self-care, daily living, and independent living skills to restore an individual’s stability, support their functional gains, and adapt to community living.
  • Facilitate participation in and utilization of strengths-based planning and treatments, which include identifying strengths and needs, resources, and natural supports, and developing goals and objectives.
  • Assist the individual with effectively responding to or avoiding triggers, identifying crises, and developing a crisis management plan.

FAQs About Community Psychiatric Support and Treatmentd

How do I know if CPST is right for me?
If you’re facing challenges with mental health, emotional stability, or daily functioning, CPST may be a helpful option. We work closely with you to assess your needs and determine if this service aligns with your personal goals and recovery journey.
What kind of support can I expect through CPST?
You’ll receive hands-on assistance with life skills, emotional regulation, behavior management, and problem-solving. We tailor our support to meet your individual needs in real-life settings, not just in a therapy room.
Will I need to have a mental health diagnosis to access CPST?
Yes, CPST is a structured mental health service designed for individuals with a diagnosed behavioral health condition. We use your diagnosis as part of a personalized plan that supports meaningful progress and recovery.
Can I involve my family or support system in the process?
Absolutely. When it’s helpful and appropriate, we include your family or trusted individuals in the process. Their involvement can strengthen your support system and help ensure continuity in your recovery.
What’s the difference between CPST and individual counseling?
CPST includes some counseling elements, but we focus more on practical, skills-based interventions that you can apply in your everyday life. While traditional therapy may focus on internal processing, our approach emphasizes action, stability, and community integration.
How often will I meet with someone through CPST?
The frequency depends on your unique situation and goals. We’ll work with you to create a flexible schedule that provides the right level of support—whether that’s several times a week or less frequently as you progress.
What are the long-term benefits of participating in CPST?
Over time, CPST can help improve your emotional stability, independence, and ability to manage daily responsibilities. Our goal is to support your recovery in a way that empowers you to live confidently and independently within your community.
